Within your media library, Workshop provides image editing that allows you to easily crop, rotate, resize, and markup any image!
Accessing Workshop's image editor
You have the ability to edit any image file (.jpg, .png & .webp) that has been uploaded to your media library.
From your media library, you can access the edit functionality by:
- Clicking into an image preview and click 'edit image'
- Clicking into the 3 dot menu and click 'edit image'
You can edit an image by navigating to your media library from the 'manage' dropdown or before inserting an image from your media library into your email.
Editing your image
Within the image editor, you will have the following options available to you:
Crop: You can use the freeform box to create a perfect crop of your image.
Crop to circle: You can use the applied circle frame to crop your image into a circle shape (of any size you want!).
- Note: Images that are cropped to a circle will be transformed into a .png image to apply a transparent background to your circle.
Flip horizontal/vertical: You can use the quick actions to flip your image horizontally or vertically.
Rotate: You can use the quick action 'rotate left' to rotate your image in a 90 degree clockwise rotation. You can also use the rotation sliding scale to rotate to an exact degree.
Scale: You can use scale slider to zoom in, focus or cut out something you don't want to see.
Resize: You can use custom dimensions to resize your images to fit perfectly within your rows, alongside other images.
Markup: You can add text, shapes (rectangle or ellipse) or arrows on top of your images.
What if I made an edit that I don't want to keep?
Within the image editor, you have the ability to remove edits you have made. This can be done via the undo/redo options or reset.
- Undo/Redo functionality: These options allow you to undo and/or redo any edits you have made to your image before saving. Once your edits are saved, you will need to use reset to remove any edit.
- Reset: This option allows you to reset your image to your original uploaded image thus, it will remove any edits that have ever been made to the image.
Best practices
We do recommend that you maintain a copy of your original image within your media library. To do so, you can duplicate your image within your media library.
Within the 3 dot menu located on an image, you will be provided the action 'duplicate'. This will instantly make a copy of your image within your media library that you can rename & edit.
