Through user permissions, you can grant access to certain users to send text messages as well as, send messages from only certain account phone numbers.
Requirements:
- Must have the SMS channel on your account
- Must have a premium account plan to gain access to user permissions
If you have one phone number within your Workshop account, you grant access to users by enabling the ability to send text messages within their user permissions. To navigate to user permissions, first navigate to Manage > Users:
Hover over your specific individual user and click on the 3dot menu. Within the 3dot menu, select Assign Permissions
Within the Limited Access user role, enable the 'Can they send text messages' permission
If you have more than one phone number within your Workshop account, you can select which phone numbers a user should have access to send from. Follow the steps outlined above but after enabling the 'Can they send text messages permission', you will see additional configuration settings.
Select the checkbox next to each phone number that you want to grant the user access to send from
If a user has access to only one of our SMS phone numbers, can they see messages sent from other numbers?
No, users can only view messages & inbox conversations for the phone numbers they have been granted access to send from. This is a great way to restrict visibility to sensitive communications being sent out from your SMS channel.
Do you have ghostwriting capabilities for SMS?
Not specifically but through the purchase of additional phone numbers, you can set up 'ghostwriting' situations within your SMS channel. For instance, purchase an additional phone number that is solely the CEO phone number and grant access to only the Workshop users that should be able to send text messages out on behalf of the CEO.
