Version history helps you explore older drafts of your Page and restore any version when you need it. Whether you’re undoing a mistake or going back to an earlier direction, you can make changes confidently knowing nothing is lost.

What version history does
Workshop automatically creates snapshots of your page every five minutes while editing, and during key actions like publishing.. These snapshots appear as a timeline so you can review earlier drafts, see who made changes, and restore a version with one click.
When you restore a version, it becomes the new current version for your team. Your full history stays intact—Workshop never overwrites previous snapshots.

Undo and Redo
Per-user, per-session, you’ll be able to quickly undo or redo your own recent changes without affecting collaborators or reverting through version history.
Undo/redo is designed for quick, recent edits, while version history is best for restoring major earlier drafts.
- Apply undo/redo changes in the current session
Never undo a collaborator’s work
Work along with familiar shortcuts:
macOS: Cmd + Z (Undo), Cmd + Shift + Z (Redo)
Windows/Linux: Ctrl + Z (Undo), Ctrl + Y or Ctrl + Shift + Z (Redo)
How to restore a previous version
- Open Version history.
- Select the version you want to restore.
- Click Restore version in the preview.
- Confirm the action in the modal.
What happens next
- The version you selected becomes the live version for your whole team.
- Workshop creates a new snapshot labeled as a restored version
- If you have changes that haven’t been saved recently, Workshop captures a snapshot first so nothing is lost.
The timeline will show who restored the version and when.

How restores work with collaborators
Restoring a version is a global change. Everyone working on the page will see the restored version instantly and an alert that informs others that someone restored a different version..
If two collaborators restore different versions at the same time, the most recent restore applies. The timeline will clearly show who restored it and at what time.

How long versions are kept
Workshop stores all snapshots from the last 30 days.

Tips for using version history
- Feel free to experiment—restoring a version is always reversible.
- If multiple teammates are editing, communicate before restoring to avoid surprises.
