What are AI Tools?
AI Tools live right inside the email editor’s text blocks, so you can get writing help without ever leaving your draft. Whether you’re starting from a blank block or polishing existing copy, AI Tools can draft, rewrite, translate, or proofread your text in a few clicks.
Accessing AI Tools
To open AI Tools:
- Select a text block in your email.
- Highlight the copy you’d like help with, or place your cursor where you’d like AI to write something new.
- Select AI Tools from the toolbar above the text block.
From the menu, you can choose:
- Write for me — generate new copy from scratch based on a prompt you provide.
- Expand on my idea — turn a short note or bullet into fuller copy.
- Change tone — rewrite your selected text in a different tone.
- Translate to... — translate your selected text into another language.
- Shorten length — tighten your copy while keeping the core message.
- Spell check — review your copy for spelling and grammar issues.
Changing the tone of your copy
Select Change tone to see a list of tone options, including Casual, Confident, Concise, Elaborate, Empathetic, and Formal. Choose the tone that best fits your message, and AI Tools will rewrite your selected copy to match.
Tip: If none of the preset tones are quite right, you can still fine-tune the result afterward using the custom instruction field.
Translating your copy
Select Translate to... and search for the language you’d like your copy translated into. This is a fast way to repurpose an email for a different audience without leaving the editor.
Running a spell check
Select Spell check to have AI Tools scan your selected copy for spelling and grammar issues — things like missing capitalization, typos, or subject-verb agreement.
AI Tools will generate a corrected version of your copy for you to review. Any fixes are shown as a suggested rewrite rather than applied automatically, so you stay in control of the final wording. Select the "Apply" button to finalize the changes.
Tip: Spell check catches grammar issues in addition to typos — for example, correcting subject-verb agreement or inconsistent capitalization.
Giving AI custom instructions
After choosing an option like Change tone, Expand on my idea, or Write for me, a text field appears where you can tell AI exactly what you’d like changed — for example, asking it to make the message shorter, warmer, or more specific.
Once you enter your instruction, AI Tools will generate a new version of your copy. You’ll see a brief Writing... indicator while it works.
Reviewing and applying suggestions
After AI generates a suggestion, you have three options:
- Try again — generate another version if the first result isn’t quite right.
- Discard — dismiss the suggestion and keep your original copy.
- Apply — replace your copy with the AI-generated version.
Note: Applying a suggestion updates the text block immediately, but your email isn’t published or sent — you can keep editing, preview, or send a test at any point afterward.
