Why content might not match your styles
Styles let you set formatting once — like colors, fonts, and button appearance — so every new block you add automatically follows those specifications. But sometimes you'll make a one-off change to a block, or work with content that was created before your styles were established. When that happens, the block's formatting can fall out of sync with the rest of your email.
For example, say your established button style uses blue as the button color. If you select a button and manually change its color to orange, that button no longer matches your styles — even though the rest of your buttons still do.
Reverting content to match your styles
Rather than manually resetting each property back to your specifications, you can revert any out-of-sync block in a couple of clicks. There are two ways to do this.
Styles Panel:
- Go to the Styles panel.
- Select the paintbrush icon next to Styles at the top of the panel, then select the dropdown arrow beside it.
- Choose Apply all styles or Apply specific styles, depending on what you want to update.
Once applied, any content that doesn't match your styles reverts to the formatting specified in your Styles panel.
From the Content Block:
- Click into the content block of the item out of alignment with your styles
- Select the paintbrush icon next to the content block name at the top of the panel, then select the dropdown arrow beside it.
- Choose Reset to default styles or Reset specific changes, depending on what you want to update.
Once applied, any content that doesn't match your styles reverts to the formatting specified in your Styles panel.
Apply all styles vs. apply specific styles
The paintbrush dropdown recognizes exactly which blocks in your email don't match your current styles, and gives you two ways to fix them:
- Apply all styles — Finds every block in the email that doesn't match your specifications and reverts all of them at once.
- Apply specific styles — Lets you choose which style category (like Button, Text, or Link) to apply, so you can update one type of content without affecting others.
Tip: Use Apply all styles for a quick, complete cleanup before you publish. Use Apply specific styles when you only want to correct one type of block — for example, if only your buttons are out of sync but you want to leave other manual formatting in place.
