What to know before deleting
Deleting content in Workshop is permanent. Before you delete a template, page, or email, keep the following in mind:
- Deletions cannot be undone. Once you confirm, the item is permanently removed and cannot be restored.
- Ownership matters. You can only delete templates and emails that you own. If you don’t see the Delete option, you may not be the owner.
- You’ll always be asked to confirm. After selecting Delete, a confirmation window appears so you can cancel or confirm before anything is removed.
Tip: If you might need the content again, consider cloning it or saving it as a template before deleting the original.
Deleting a template
You can delete any template you own from the My templates, Shared with me, or Template library sections.
- Select Manage in the top navigation, then select Templates.
- Choose My templates, Shared with me, or Template library, and select the Email or Page tab.
- Hover over the template you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
- In the confirmation window, select Delete to permanently remove the template, or Cancel to keep it.
Deleting a page
- Select Pages in the top navigation.
- Locate the page you want to delete.
- Select the 3-dot menu to the far right of the page.
- Select Delete.
- In the confirmation window, select Delete to permanently remove the page, or Cancel to keep it.
Note: Once a page is deleted, it is permanently removed and will no longer be available to view.
Deleting an email
- Select Email in the top navigation.
- Locate the email you want to delete.
- Select the 3-dot menu to the far right of the email.
- Select Delete at the bottom of the menu.
- In the confirmation window, select Delete to permanently remove the email, or Cancel to keep it.
Note: Automated emails can be deleted from the Automated tab on the email index page, up until they are part of a published journey. Once an automated email is in a published journey, it cannot be deleted, since removing it would affect the communications being sent.
