You can add Workshop to Gemini Enterprise as a custom MCP server. After you add it, people on your Gemini Enterprise team can ask Cici, Workshop's AI agent, about your internal communications, and draft emails in Workshop, without leaving Gemini.
Each person signs in with their own Workshop account, so Gemini sees only the data that person can see in Workshop. Workshop never sends or publishes an email from Gemini.
Before you begin
Make sure that you have the following:
- A Gemini Enterprise team, and the team administrator role on it.
- A Workshop account
Google offers custom MCP servers in Gemini Enterprise as a Pre-GA feature. For more information, see Set up your custom MCP server connection.
Find your Workshop region
Workshop runs in two regions, and each region has its own connection settings. To find your region, check the address that you use to sign in to Workshop:
- If you sign in at
app.useworkshop.com, use the US settings. - If you sign in at
app-eu.useworkshop.com, use the EU settings.
Add Workshop as an MCP server
Sign in to Gemini Enterprise.
Click Settings & help.
Select your team, and then go to Manage team > Connected apps.
On the Connected apps page, click Add MCP Server.
-
In the MCP info section, enter the following values, and then click Next:
Field US EU Server URL https://mcp.useworkshop.com/mcphttps://mcp-eu.useworkshop.com/mcpName WorkshopWorkshop
In the Authentication settings section, select OAuth 2.0.
-
Enter the values for your region:
Field US EU Authorization URL https://app.useworkshop.com/oauth/authorizehttps://app-eu.useworkshop.com/oauth/authorizeToken URL https://app.useworkshop.com/oauth/tokenhttps://app-eu.useworkshop.com/oauth/tokenAuthorization URL Parameters Leave empty. Leave empty. Every Workshop customer uses the same client ID and client secret for their region. Access to your data comes from each person's own Workshop sign-in, not from these values.
Click Verify Auth. When Gemini opens the Workshop sign-in page, sign in with your Workshop account and click Authorize.
Click Continue.
In the Configure your data connector section, select a location in the Multi-region list.
In the Your data connector name field, enter
Workshop.Click Add. Workshop appears on the Connectors page.
Turn on the Workshop connection. Gemini Enterprise adds new MCP server connections turned off, and your team can't see the connection until you turn it on.
Use Workshop in Gemini
The first time that you use Workshop in Gemini, Gemini asks you to sign in to Workshop. Sign in with your own Workshop account, and then click Authorize.
You can ask questions such as the following:
- "How did last week's all-hands email perform?"
- "Which campaigns reached the most frontline employees this quarter?"
- "Draft an email in Workshop announcing the Q4 all-hands."
Cici can take up to a few minutes to answer a question. When you ask for a draft, Gemini returns a link to the draft in the Workshop editor, where you can review and finish it.
Troubleshoot
Verify Auth fails, or the Workshop sign-in page shows an error. Check that the Authorization URL, Token URL, Client ID, and Client Secret all come from the same region column, and that the region matches the address where you sign in to Workshop. A US account can't sign in with the EU settings, and an EU account can't sign in with the US settings.
Sign-in works, but Workshop tools return an error. AI features or the Workshop connector might be turned off for your company. Contact your Workshop customer success manager.
Your team can't see Workshop in Gemini. Go to the Connectors page and check that the Workshop connection is turned on.
Remove Workshop from Gemini Enterprise
- In the Connectors & MCP Server list, select Workshop.
- Click More options, and then click Delete.
Deleting the connection is permanent. To add Workshop again, follow the steps in Add Workshop as an MCP server.
