How to configure Workshop's content URLs in Group Policy

Workshop makes it easy to add images into your emails to make them more interesting, as well as uses images for open-tracking and analytics. In order to ensure that both of these features work properly, follow the steps below.

  • On a Domain Controller start by creating a new GPO (or editing an existing GPO)
  • Navigate to User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Registry (1-4 in the screenshot below)
  • Add a New Registry Item (steps 5-6 in the screenshot below)

  • Insert the follow path into the Key Path
  • SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\workshop-email-content.com
  • Insert this value into Value Namehttps
  • Change the Value type to REG_DWORD
  • Update Value data to 2 

RegGPO-2-1

  • Apply changes and click OK to close the window
  • Repeat steps 5 & 6 from the first screenshot to create a second entry

Please note: these URLs are similar, but different. Please double check that you are pasting in the correct path.

  • Insert the follow path into the Key Path
  • SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\ZoneMap\Domains\workshop-email-tracking.com
  • Insert this value into Value Namehttps
  • Change the Value type to REG_DWORD
  • Update Value data to 2

  • Apply changes and click OK to close the window
  • Please be sure to link or target the appropriate OU to ensure deployment
