Before you begin
You'll need:
- Admin access to the Microsoft 365 admin center
- A Microsoft 365 Copilot premium license
- A Workshop account
The admin sets up the connector once for the whole organization. After that, each person connects Workshop in their own Copilot settings.
Add the Workshop connector
- Go to https://admin.cloud.microsoft and sign in.
- In the left menu, go to Copilot > Connectors.
- On the Gallery tab, scroll to Created by your org. You can also pick Created by your org under Categories.
- On the Create a new connector card, click Add.
- The Custom connector panel opens. Under Select type, find Connect to MCP server and click Add.
Enter the connector details

Authenticate the connection
-
After you paste the Reference ID, click Authorize.
- A new tab opens on the Connect to Workshop page. It lists what Copilot will be able to do:
- Ask questions about your company's Workshop data, answered by Cici
- Create email drafts in your Workshop account with Cici. Cici can't send or publish them.
-
Click Approve access.
-
Go back to the admin center tab. You'll see a green check mark next to the Reference ID.
- Check the Notice box to accept the Microsoft 365 Copilot connector terms.
- Click Create.
- On the Success page, look for check marks next to Created connection and Linking data source. Then click Done.
Note: If the Workshop tab doesn't open when you click Authorize, your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Allow pop-ups for admin.cloud.microsoft and try again.
Connect Workshop in Copilot
Each person does this once in their own Copilot account.
- Go to https://copilot.cloud.microsoft/chat.
-
In the bottom-left corner, click the gear icon (Settings and more) next to your name to open Chat settings.
- Select Sources.
-
Under Browse sources, search for
Workshop. - Click Connect next to Workshop.
-
In the Connect Workshop window, click Continue to Workshop.
-
On the Connect to Workshop page, click Approve access.
- A message confirms that Workshop is now connected.
Tip: Try it out by asking Copilot something like "What were the results of our last campaign in Workshop?" or "Start an email draft in Workshop about next week's all-hands."
